What to Expect
Whether you book me for a traditional or documentary-style session, my goal is to make you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the day. I rarely meet a stranger, and when it comes to kids—I’m all about silliness and meeting them right where they are. You’ll probably spot me in “soft clothes,” since I’m moving around a lot and sometimes contorting to get the perfect shot! When it comes to what you wear, I’m happy to help style your session so you feel confident and look great.
Getting Started: Every session begins with a little time to get to know each other. It helps everyone relax—and relaxed photos are the most natural and joyful.
If you’re booking “Anecdotes” session, we’ll spend two hours exactly how you want. Maybe some classic portraits to start, then some backyard play or a family dance party—those are some of my favorite moments to capture! This session can be as posed or as candid as you like. We’ll definitely chat beforehand to make sure we’re on the same page.
Your Short Story: Consider this the entry-level documentary session—4 hours of hanging out with me and my camera. I’m not a fly on the wall; I’ll engage with you plenty (it would be too weird if everyone pretended I wasn’t there!). Think of it like having a friend with a camera who’s here to capture your story. And don’t worry, we’ll still get some traditional posed shots in this session too.
Your Narrative: This package is a true documentary session—me spending 6 to 8 hours capturing a full day in the life of your family. It’s like “Your Short Story” session but longer, allowing for a deeper, richer story to unfold. It’s a bigger commitment, but the photos you get are truly priceless.
Chronicals: One of my personal favorites! Over the course of the year, you’ll build an album that shows how much happened and how everyone grew. I do this for my own family, and these photo books are treasured keepsakes. We can tailor this to your needs—either one-hour sessions every month or four three-hour sessions spaced throughout the year.
